Sun Diego

Monday, March 2, 2015

In celebration of my birthday, the hubby and I are heading to warmer weather and I am so excited to spend some time in sunny San Diego!  I haven't posted a fashion piece in a while, so thought I would share with you guys what I intend to pack for this long weekend getaway.  A few pieces will be used more than once to save on space.  If you are like my husband and wondering how the hell I manage to fit all of these items in one carry on...never underestimate the power of packing cubes

Well Plaid...

Wednesday, October 15, 2014

In true Seattle style, I am breaking out the plaid.   Typically, I would avoid wearing the same shirt as Al from Home Improvement; however, plaid has made a come back in a good way and there are so many ways to rock this look!  Who knew that plaid could be so versatile? So, today's post is all about how to style this old stand by.

Go for Layers and wear your plaid shirt as a cardigan.

Pair a plaid shirt with gray skinny jeans, a simple blue t-shirt, flats, and a gray crossbody

Preppy Plaid-dress up your plaid shirt with a navy blazer.  I am loving this look from the Fashionista Next Door!

Or put your own spin on this staple.  Love how Atlantic-Pacific added a feminine touch to her plaid shirt and I am really digging the red Hunter boots!

Here Comes the Rain Again...

Thursday, September 25, 2014

It's been raining here in Seattle for the last few days.  Determined to not let the rain wash away my style, I've put together 3 different outfits this week to tackle the soggy streets.  So for all my fellow fashionistas and for one of the most stylish people I know back home, today's post is all about style.

For this casual rainy day outfit, I started with a chambray shirt (similar) and paired it with a simple pair of black skinny jeans; I wore an old pair from Anne Taylor.  Since the rain was just a drizzle Tuesday, I wore black leather Frye ankle boots (similar here), a bib necklace (similar), and a vibrant tote (similar here).
Business Casual

Wednesday the rain was relentless, so out of necessity I broke out the rainboots (similar) and gortex jacket.  Underneath the raincoat I wore a JCrew boyfriend blazer-no longer available (similar), a simple white t-shirt (here), House of Harlow Sunburst necklace-no longer available (similar), and a hat (similar).

Street Casual

I've worn jeans almost everyday this week, so in the mood for something a little different today I paired this shirt style dress with a turquoise tassel necklace (similar), a waterproof jacket, and a pair of bourdeux boots (similar).

A Few of My Favorite Things...

Wednesday, September 10, 2014

Fall is my favorite season!  The cool crisp air makes me giddy and there are leaves to kick! Fall gives me an excuse to indulge in hot soups, hot desserts, and that extra cup of coffee.  It's also the start of the holiday season; Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.   Who doesn't love Fall?  So, in celebration of my favorite season today's post is all about a few of my favorite Fall purchases.

Yummy!  One of my favorites...Starbuck's Pecan Tart.

Rag and Bone Fedora...great for all of those rainy days we'll have here in Seattle

Love this new color from Tom Ford!
